Specialties
I have been formally certified as a CSAT (certified sex addiction therapist) in 2016, and my particular subspecialty is working with the partners of sex addicts. I chose to pursue sex addiction as an area of expertise because of the rising epidemic in our country, mainly due to the Internet providing easier access to the material that feeds the addiction. I am touched by the poignancy of the addiction and how it traumatizes, not only the addict but also the people around them (family, coworkers, etc.). My goal is to help partners stabilize and heal from the betrayal trauma. I have regular supervision with an expert regarding this work.
Prior to starting my private practice, I worked as a hospital-based social worker in three different hospital settings on medical teams treating HIV/AIDS as well as women’s cancers. These experiences deepened my understanding of the physical impact of medical illnesses and the effect on their loved ones. I am very comfortable discussing treatment protocols and supporting the process.
My Areas of Specialization Include:
-
Chronic and Terminal Illnesses

Death and Dying
